There will be a short hiatus due to our time constraints.

There will be new topics for discussion soon to follow, though, so don't worry.

You may still continue previous arguments on the last post.

Thank you.

Alright, since you guys desire a new topic for discussion, and since I need to manage my time more wisely by focusing on my studies (I'll stay out of the way from now on), I'll let you guys debate on your own.

Topic: which idea of God is the most coherent one? If not the biblical view of God, then which? The Islamic view? Aristotelian view? Deistic view?

Debate, fellow philosophers!!!

Since, as Christuba claims in the latest comment in the previous post, we aren't really going anywhere in discussing the historicity of the Gospels and the Resurrection, I think it's time to start up a new topic for debate.

I've always wanted to discuss this topic, which has been a perpetual thorn in Christianity among intellectuals. It is.........."The Problem of Evil."

1. If God exists, then He is loving, omnipotent, and omniscient.

2. If God is loving, then He wouldn't want evil to exist.

3. If God is omnipotent, then He could eliminate evil's existence.

4. If God is omniscient, then He would not knowingly create a world in which evil exists.

5. Evil exists, therefore, a loving, omnipotent, and omniscient God does not exist.

I tried to formulate this argument as accurately as I have heard it from fellow atheists. If a premise is slightly inaccurate, please let us know.

Let's get ready to discuss!

Hey, everybody! Our last post was not that bad. Thanks for those who commented.

New debate topic: the Resurrection of Jesus of Nazareth--literally true or a legendary tale? Please provide reasons for the respective beliefs to which you espouse.

Heres a new topic:

Just where,in your opinion,is the limit for government/church/privacy separation and the like? Are you for the complete purging of any religious reference in our political system,or do you believe there should be a 'legislated morality'?Hm?Hm?Hm?Hm?
